How It All Began

How it all began…

Only 20 years ago, this is what our area looked like. Then came the builders, and put up a collection of houses, which is today known as Leopardstown Heights.
In its roughly 350 homes, a thriving community has developed, which is probably topping 1.000 (one thousand!) inhabitants.

To protect our environment, we set up the L.H.R.A.
the Leopardstown Heights Residents Association.

What we did NOT want…

The Dun Laoghaire/Rathdown County Council (DLRCoCo) wanted US, and especially the residents on the Murphystown Road, to face the sombre prospect of HiRises next to our estate!
But we showed a united front, otherwise this monstrosity would have spoiled our rural image forever!

Well, we battled against them, got plenty of coverage from the media, television included, and in the end we won!
We will NOT have this eye-sore, thanks to the combined efforts of our neighbourhood!
